The Book of the Wars of the Lord
« on: March 04, 2010, 12:11:46 AM »
Has anyone ever heard of the "Book of the Wars of the Lord"?  Here's a bit of what it was supposedly about:

Quote
"It was an independent book, in which were written the records of the wars waged by the Lord on behalf of those that fear Him and was probably written in the times of Abraham. Many books have been lost and are no longer extant such as the Words of Nathan and Ido, and the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel, and the Songs and Proverbs of Solomon".

You know I never even knew such a book existed, and did not know this was recorded in the Bible.  I haven't spent enough time reading Numbers I see.  Excellent find.  I would love to read this book if they ever find it.  I wonder why the Lord allowed it to be lost?

A guess - not important within the salvation story?

Quite right.  It's not that important at all.  The Lord doesn't want to be remembered as the God of War.  He wants to be remembered as the God of Love and Mercy.  So it's no surprise why He didn't charge someone with preserving this work.

Again, I agree with Donald.
I'm often wrong, but I'm not always wrong!
