Today is Good Friday. Think of how often you see the Cross - churches, signs, jewelry, etc.  It all points to this day.

Christian Legacies Main Forum / Re: Premillennialism
« Last post by Phidippides on September 23, 2025, 12:37:36 AM »
I find it surprising how little attention that premillennialism gets in our national discourse given that it seems to form such a significant basis for American foreign policy toward Israel.  I must admit that I do not agree with premillenialism theologically, and practically-speaking, I think it results in Israel using America for its convenience - almost like a mercenary.  Some politicians on the right (including ones of which I am generally a fan of) seem to place Israel's well-being ahead of America's, which seems kind of bonkers to me.

I don't think we need to approach it in any way.  It's just computer generated art nothing more.  Now if people want to revere AI artwork like iconography, then yes you will have a problem there.

I remember when people started posting beautiful religious AI art a few years ago, and I wasn't sure how to take it.  We know there is no human soul behind its creation, so does that change how we approach it?

Will we be granted that which Satan coveted?  Access to the Divine Nature?  How do we define the Divine Nature?  Will we be like God or something lesser but still above the angels?  Or something else entirely?

It's a load of theological crap.  God will have favor on whom He will favor.  The "Name it and Claim It" crowd peddle a pyramid scheme religion.  They say, "Sow a seed to our ministry, and God will return your blessing 10 fold."  Or something similar.  So fake.

At least I think that's what it's called.  I think it's the idea that earning of high amounts of wealth and/or luxury lifestyle is a reflection of divine blessing (?).  Alright, I could be totally wrong on that, but I believe it's a general message among Joel Osteen and certain other Christian preachers.  Thoughts?

Good one.

Another is "donatism", which held that Christ was not actually man.  Apparently there was a gospel that was rejected from the canon (I believe it was the Gospel of Peter) because of potentially donatist content.  For example, there was a line in it that described Christ as behaving like He was in no pain while on the cross.  If Christ were in no pain, though, it would mean that He was not a man.
