Congrats on getting your article there.  However, know that I just spent the last 15 minutes looking up the origin story of the "Sword of Damocles".  It had been some time since I heard it and I had been meaning to get a refresher.  :D

Another expression with somewhat closer meaning is the one from Shakespeare about "Heavy is the head that wears the crown".  However, for some reason I don't think that would have captured what you were trying to say.
