Atheists...if any are lurking, join and defend your position on why God doesn't exist.  Agnostics you too...isn't it time to get off the fence and take a side? ;D

MBA program
« on: August 10, 2018, 11:20:50 AM »
Donnie, I'm interested in hearing more about your MBA program.  Are you enjoying it?  Are you on a certain track?  What's been your favorite class so far?  What made you want to go back to school and pursue your MBA?  Just curious.

Well I'm doing the professional weekend MBA at the University of Louisville which is the 75th best Business Scholar in the country.  I haven't settled on a track yet and I may not as it isn't required.  I just wanted to get a higher degree for a better job.

That's good.  Was it hard to return to school or was it not that bad?

It wasn't hard to get back into going. I failed the GMAT twice but they still admitted me...I guess because the enrollment  was down.  I won't say I love it but I think it will payoff in the end.

How could you "fail the GMAT"?  I thought it's all graded on a scale and not pass/fail.

Incidentally, I'm sure it will help you out long-term.  I haven't really directly used my MBA to get ahead but in my current teaching position my MBA has enabled me to teach a business class, so that's a plus.  :D

Well I scored lower than a 500.  That is one hard test.

Just got done with Project Management.  I can read a Gantt Chart now lol.  Yes I still like it.  I begin Capstone Project next semester.  I won't know what I will be doing until the school gives us projects to choose from.

So Spring 2019 will be your last semester?  I remember doing my Capstone Project.  We had about 4-5 of us who had to figure out how to turn around a business that manufactured cat litter that changed color if the cat had a urinary tract infection, IIRC.  ;D

What has been your favorite class so far?  I think mine was Digital Marketing, or Global Business.  Least favorite was probably statistics or financial management/accounting.

Strategic Management has been my favorite so far.  Statistics and accounting sucked bad lol.
